Adding Faux Wood Blinds to Your Home
Most people appreciate the look of authentic wood window treatments. Unfortunately, hardwood window coverings are not meant for every climate, or every room. That’s where faux wood comes in. Faux wood is more resilient and economical than its natural counterpart.
Strength and Style
EverWood® Alternative Wood Blinds from Hunter Douglas can withstand frequent exposure to heat, humidity, and moisture without being damaged. EverWood® blinds come with a lifetime guarantee to never crack, chip, peel, or fade. This makes them a great addition to sunrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. They are also great for homes in extremely hot, humid climates.
Alternative wood blinds are available in a larger variety of colors than hardwood due to their composite makeup. You can select a variety of solids in whites, grays, and other neutral shades. Your EverWood® faux wood blinds are also available in several textures, and TruGrain finishes, which is the most realistic wood-like stain in the industry. Your blinds can be accessorized with decorative tapes to create a more personalized look.
Faux wood blinds absorb heat to provide an excellent layer of insulation with the slats closed. They will keep heat out during the summer, and hold it indoors during the winter. They will also serve as a barrier between damaging UV rays and your treasured interior items. Furnishings, floor coverings, and artwork are all at risk from becoming faded or discolored as a result of prolonged UV ray exposure.
A Convenient Addition
Window blinds provide excellent variable light control. Tilt the slats open for a little light, more for a larger amount of light, or raise the blind completely to let in the most natural light. With the exclusive de-Light™ feature from Hunter Douglas eliminates cordholes to block out 50% more incoming light than traditional window blinds.
Your faux wood window blinds are also a breeze to maintain. Unlike natural hardwood, which cannot be exposed to moisture or many cleaning agents, faux wood can get wet and can be cleaned with most household cleaners.
Choose 2 inch slats for a more classic, traditional look, or 2.5 inch slats for a contemporary appeal. Larger slats are also a better choice for rooms where darkness is more important, like bedrooms. Larger slats leave fewer gaps between slats for unwanted light to sneak in.
Operating Systems
Dangling cords are both unsightly and unsafe for pets and children. Hunter Douglas offers a number of operating options including PowerView® Automation, which allows you to control your blinds using your voice or mobile device. LiteRise® is another good option. This style operates by simply pushing up or pulling down on the bottom rail. A third option is SimpleLift™, which operates by pushing a button on the bottom rail. All three are stylish and safe.
